HistoryMaker is making its Houston debut in Wright’s Landing, a Spring community near the Grand Parkway where the builder has 69 homesites. The new model home — HistoryMaker’s Alder design — is now open at 29522 Taliesin Court. Kurt Watzek, who is leading HistoryMaker Homes’ expansion into Houston, says the model represents the best of what HistoryMaker offers.
“We have updated our selection offerings for our first homes in Houston, giving buyers more space and more choice,” Watzek said. “The Alder design is a floor plan developed over the last few years that is impressively flexible while still offering the open-concept living buyers are seeking.”
The floor plan, priced from the $280,000s, offers up to six bedrooms, a game room, media room, private study and extensive storage. Tray ceilings, French doors and walls of windows add distinctive architectural detail.
HistoryMaker is offering 17 floor plans in Wright’s Landing. The one- and two-story designs range from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet and are priced from the $220,000s. Six inventory homes are underway.
HistoryMaker launched in Dallas-Fort Worth in 1949, expanding over the decades and now building more than 800 homes across the region in 16 developments.
“Our success has been founded on building homes that offer our homeowners more living space and less wasted space at an exceptional value,” HistoryMaker Homes CEO Nelson Mitchell said. “The fact that we have been in business for more than 60 years allows us to offer homes at highly competitive prices.”
With proximity to the Grand Parkway and Interstate 45, as well as popular schools in Conroe Independent School District, Wright’s Landing presented a perfect opportunity to expand into the Houston market, Mitchell said.
"Being so well established in Dallas, it is now time for us to move into Houston,” Mitchell said. “The housing market here is still strong and will continue to improve. Finding properties in a community like Wright’s Landing that offers a one-two punch of what people want — location and exceptional schools — was ideal.”
Young residents of Wright’s Landing attend Birnham Woods Elementary, Cox Intermediate, York Junior High and Oak Ridge High School.
