50,000 Through Benefit Home | HistoryMaker Homes
HISTORYMAKER Homes along with its trade partners, stake holders and community support has completed their first ever “Home for HOPE” in Providence Village, a community north of Hwy 380 between Denton and McKinney, TX. The benefit home was completed August 5, 2014. The project generated $150,000 for Homes for HOPE and HOPE International. A dedication event will be held in Providence Village at the Community Center on August 20th at 11:30 a.m.
Homes for HOPE, a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization, operates within the building industry across the United States, uniting builders and their trade partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to build a "Home for HOPE" (a benefit home) on a largely pro bono basis. All profits from the sale of the home will benefit HOPE International, a Christian organization working in many of the world’s poorest countries to help families escape poverty through business development. The “Home for HOPE” homeowners Joel and Julie Farrell felt drawn to be a part of this project, “Knowing our entire mortgage payment is going to help spread the gospel and help other people around the world is the most rewarding part of this process. It’s probably the largest payment you can make, and to know basically all the money is going to help other people and we get a place to live, too, makes it really great for us.” Nelson Mitchell, president and CEO of HISTORYMAKER Homes, was encouraged by the generosity of HISTORYMAKER Homes’ trade partners and stakeholders on this project saying, “HISTORYMAKER was able to exceed our goal of $100,000 due to the commitment from our trade partners and stakeholders. Supporting organizations like Homes for HOPE and HOPE International has the power to bring our entire industry together.”
