Houston is heaven for golf lovers. The majority of the more than 150 (!!!) golf courses in the area are open to the public, which means this traditionally elitist sport is affordable and plentiful. And there’s a lot of variety, with courses running the gamut from tree-lined, heavily wooded greens to wide-open coastal plains layouts. And golf is a year-round sport in Houston, with mild winters and gorgeous fall weather providing the perfect playing conditions. Regardless of what you’re in the mood for, Houston, TX, has a public golf course for you!
